Refresh & Renew! Louis Comfort Tiffany Does Pantone 2016

Picture
One of the things I look forward to each year is the unveiling of Pantone's color report and their color of the year. While 2015 was focused on saucy Marsala, which I personally like paired with spicy compliments, I am pleasantly surprised by this year's soft colors: 'Rose Quartz' and 'Serenity.' I think of soft sunsets, cool breezes and gentle waves on a lake with these two colors. While each stands on their own or blended together as Pantone suggests in their cover statement, they are spectacular when tied together with other found-in-nature colors.

(see Pantone's full write up and color pairings here)

As the artist most associated with the Art Nouveau and Aesthetic movements, Louis Comfort Tiffany was a master of color. Most often, we associate his work with stained glass, however, he possessed a diverse skill set using multiple mediums of tile mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, enamels, metalwork and, yes, the most amazing jewelry. Without further adieu, here are a few Tiffany masterpieces including Rose Quartz and Serenity to inspire you in 2016!
