Quilt Garden - Today's Parterre

We have several garden beds at our home which are unstructured and have a natural feel, but I am interested in designing a little 'more formal, but not stodgy' garden that will be next to a patio we are building.

New Leather Tote Bag!

Loving my new laptop and project bag from Rustic Moon Leather on Etsy! I like the large bucket bags with raw edges that are very popular at the moment, but the top stitching and little bit of fringe on Heather Pippin's bag suits my personal style. She has a terrific shop with many unique items and she also takes custom orders from the heart of Bitterroots, Montana. Heather is wonderful to work with and does a top quality job!

Spring in Lebanon - LM&M Railroad

It's that time of year again - flowers are blooming, birds are singing and trains are chugging! I love this time of year for so many reasons and one of my favorite is hearing the whistle blow on the LM&M trains as they start up their yearly tour season. If you are looking for a fun afternoon with the kids, a murder mystery dinner or even a trip to the Old West, I highly recommend checking out this great gem - The Lebanon, Mason & Monroe Railroad - based in Lebanon, OH.

Happy Thursday!

My Grandpa Was a Hunk!

Paul Pfennig, Sr. in His Navy Whites
We are helping my parents downsize and found this picture of my Grandpa Pfenning in my Grandma's jewelry box. I miss my grandparents so much and love finding treasures like this with my Mom.

Victorian Doll - Creepy or Sweet?

Victorian Germany China Doll

We are in the process of helping my parents downsize their estate. My sister, Sherrie, and I remember this doll on Grandma's fireplace bookshelves and how scared we were of her. Now, however, we both think she is awesome! This sweetheart is going home with Sherrie to reside in her china cabinet now.

Happy Day!

Spring Has Sprung!

I love daffodils! Their bright cheery faces are the first flowers to bloom here in the spring, right about the time the songbirds come back home.

Happy Spring!

Millie Says Hello!

We had a beautiful day here in Lebanon with a high of 50 degrees. Millie had a nice time in the backyard while I took conference calls for Kroger. Looking forward to an even warmer weekend!!!

Happy Thursday!

Sherrie's Signs

It was an impromptu decision. My friend, Susan, started offering 'paint parties' as a way to encourage customers to try her fantastic line of non-toxic chalk paints. I decided to host one before Christmas last year and the only person who could attend at that time was my sweet sister, Sherrie. We had so much fun that day and Sherrie painted her first sign - a gift for my parents' for their Florida home. Who knew she would grab the bull by the horns and start making signs for other people? I'm so happy for her and am excited to watch her budding business grow. We are working on plans for a couple local events and Sherrie is in the process of deciding whether to sell online. Stay tuned for more...

Happy Tuesday!

Snow Day!

It finally feels like winter has arrived here in Lebanon, OH. It's very cold today (10 degrees) and we're expecting some snow tomorrow. I personally love the beauty of a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and how it sparkles in the sunlight. How about you?

My Grandpa

Grandpa, Dad & Me at Coney Island, Cincinnati, OH

I recently stumbled across something I wrote (I can't believe it's been almost six years now) for my Grandpa Pfennig's funeral. I miss him so much, but am thankful he is now with my Grandma, dancing!
