So, this sweet Frabjous Day* necklace was originally intended to hold a large vintage cloisonne heart I had in my stash. However, a minor oopsie made me dig through some more stash to find this beautiful mid-century earrings holding a piece of Dragon's breath glass instead.
What happened, you say? Well, I strung the beads on wires with the intention of simply hanging my heart on the leather cord. However, that heart is quite HEAVY. The end result was a light and airy layer of beads resting well above the dangle of the heart...not pretty. This was a better choice in the end and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Update: I've decided what to do with my vintage cloisonne heart after all - try my hand at making a lariat. This one features the heart at one end with a beautiful mixed chain tassel at the other. I had fun making the beaded links plus my first attempt at rosary chain as part of the tassel. So, not one, but TWO Frabjous Day necklaces!
Happy Day!
Chris
